Diet : Herbivore, eats grass on pasture or dry hay in the barn.
Reproduction : As of 1 or 2 years, depending on the breed, the cow may mate at any time. Females give birth to one calf, occasionally 2, after a gestation of about 9 months. The calf is weaned at the age of 6 to 8 months.
Lifespan : In captivity, 10 to 15 years.
