Diet : Herbivorous, feeding on leaves, herbaceous and aquatic plants.
Reproduction : The female is sexually mature at approximately 1 ½ years old. Mating takes place between mid-September and October. 1 or 2 calves are born between late May and early June, after an 8 month gestation period and are weaned after 4-5 months.
Lifespan : Up to 20 years in the wild
Predators : Grey Wolves, Pumas and Grizzly Bears.
Calves can also be the prey of Black Bears.
Status : Not at risk.
