Diet : Carnivorouse, feeding principally on snowshoe hares, but takes other species when the latter are rare.
Reproduction : Generally, the female is sexually mature at 2 years. Mating occurs between March and April. The 1-4 cubs are born between May and June after a gestation period of 9-10 weeks, and are weaned after 3 months.
Lifespan : Up to 15 years in the wild and 24 years in captivity.
Predators : Pumas and gray wolves.
Status : Not at risk.
