Diet : Omnivore, feeding on grains, tubers, roots, leguminous plants and fodder (grass, alfalfa).
Reproduction : From the age of 6 months, mating can take place throughout the year. After an approximate gestation period of 3 to 4 months, the sow gives birth to a dozen piglets which will be weaned around 2 months old. She can have two litters per year.
Lifespan : Up to 25 years in captivity.
