Diet :
Carnivorous, feeding mainly on small mammals like Snowshoe Hares, but occasionally on young deer and birds.
Reproduction : From the age of 12 to 18 months old, mating takes place between February and March. The 2-3 cubs are born between late April and mid-May after a 50 to 70 day gestation period and are weaned after 2 months.
Lifespan : Up to 15 years in the wild.
Predators : Pumas, Grey Wolves, Coyotes and man; the young can also be the prey of Great Horned Owls and Red Foxes.
Status : Not at risk.
