Diet : Herbivorous, feeding especially on grasses, aquatic plants, seeds and fruit and sometimes on insects and other aquatic organisms.
Reproduction : From the age of 2 years old, mating and egg laying take place between April and June. The female incubates 3 to 8 eggs for 28 to 30 days. The goslings' first flight takes place 50 to 60 days later.
Lifespan : Approximately 10 years in the wild.
Predators : Foxes and birds of prey among others.
Status : Not at risk.
