Diet : Omnivorous, feeding especially on plants and supplementing its diet with insects, amphibians, reptiles and small mammals.
Reproduction : From 4 to 8 years old according to the individual. Mating and egg laying take place between April and May, the couple generally incubates 2 eggs for 27 to 29 days. The fledglings’ first flight takes place 55 to 65 days later.
Lifespan : On average 27 years in captivity.
Predators : Foxes, dogs, and birds of prey among others.
Status : Not at risk: certain populations are stable, others are declining.
