Diet : Carnivore, feeding especially on hares and other small mammals, but also on birds, including other birds of prey.
Reproduction : From 1 or 2 years old, the female generally lays 2 or 3 eggs (1-6) in February or March, which she incubates for 26 to 30 days during which time the male brings her food to eat. The fledgling's first flight takes place 63 to 70 days later.
Lifespan : Up to 20 years in the wild.
Predators : Man.
Status : Least concern.
